Make It Through

Sometimes when it rains it pours. Sometimes when it rains it drizzles. There’s never really a rhyme or reason.

I guess we could get scientific or spiritual and come up with an explanation, but that won’t change the way we feel when the family picnic gets ruined by a hailstorm.

The “why” just gets in the way. Instead of being able to experience what life feels like, we’re busy demanding or supplying answers. As if it’s going to completely soothe our emotions.

It might help, but it’s not a solution. Life has no loopholes. Hacks don’t really work.

Life is what it is. Happiness, peace, love, pain, fear, death, beauty. Plus more. Make your own list. See what emotions resonate with you right now.

Then remember that there are no guidelines on how to deal with all this. There are methods and techniques, but no full proof plans.

We figure it out as we go. We play it by ear. We share our stories. We ask questions. We reach out for help.

I’m tired of the world thinking that for some reason we can handle all of our problems on our own, in our own heads. We can’t and it’s making us crazy.

It’s true that one else can take care of our lives for us, but most of us have no idea where to start. That’s why we need each other.

Life makes us it’s student if we’re willing to listen. And some of us, as students of life, can become life’s classroom assistant. Helping and guiding others to pay attention and learn.

Together, we always make it through. No matter what it is, we make it through. And when it’s all said and done and our time here is over, we make it through that too.

No one gets stuck or frozen in time. This river continues to flow. It never, ever, ever stops.

Nothing can bring us to a halt. By the time we ask “how am I going to get through this” we’ve already done it. Life has continued.

Sometimes it makes no sense in our heads. But in the moment, if we’re able get in touch with our hearts, we realize that making sense is not important. What’s important is honoring this moment, no matter how wonderful or terrible.

The sun is going to continue to shine and so are we. We don’t have much of a choice. We’re going to be ok.
